Concept & Inspiration
A study in sculptural illusion, the Serpenti Illusio Necklace plays with perception. At first glance, the necklace appears as a hypnotic concerto of form and structure. But step closer, and the serpent reveals itself, coiled within the negative space. Drawing from the radical vocabulary of postmodern abstraction and spatial sculpture, this piece deconstructs the timeless structure of a necklace to reveal its depth in absence. A testament to the spirit of Eclectica, where tradition is dismantled and reimagined through the lens of contemporary art, this High Jewelry piece creates depth not in mass, but in what lies between.
Hands assemble a necklace element with diamonds and green details on a goldsmith's bench, next to the technical drawing of the jewelry.
Craftsmanship
The composition centers on a 14,01-carat antique cushion-cut sapphire from Madagascar and unfurls in a dynamic rhythm of triangular motifs, pavé-set diamonds, emerald accents, and onyx. The central sapphire anchors the design with a pulse of medium-strong color saturation, which confers considerable aesthetic value, while the serpent’s form is sculpted through spatial choreography. Each element is engineered to sit gracefully on the neck, allowing the threedimensional design to shift and shimmer. This masterpiece required 1,300 hours of high-level craftsmanship, patiently uniting 235 elements. Creative Director Lucia Silvestri notes, "Eachstone is custom cut... and when you look at them, there's this sense of liquidity flowing through the piece".
