Meaning of the Name
Seres refers to the ancient Roman name for the lands at the end of the Silk Road, evoking mystery, elegance, and intercultural artisanship. The name is a tribute to the elegance of textiles masterfully captured on canvas by unsurpassed painters. Just as silk once travelled across empires, Seres is a tribute to Bvlgari’s eclectic spirit: a cultural and artistic dialogue manifested through the hands of many.

Concept & Inspiration
The embodiment of movement transformed into matter, the Seres Scarf was born from a moment of creative spontaneity as an ode to freedom, flow, and form. Conceived during a quiet moment at home, its design evolved from a single sugarloaf sapphire into a tactile tapestry of fluid motion. In this piece, the mesmerizing geometry of Art Deco design meets textile inspiration, evoking vintage scarves and feminine silhouettes designed to ripple and wrap like fabric. A vivid expression of Eclettica, this necklace epitomizes the collection’s eclectic ethos, blending stylistic eras, disciplines and influences into a singular artistic design. Here, High Jewelry is wearable abstraction: movement cast in matter.

Craftsmanship
Woven entirely from precious stones, this sautoir is an extraordinary feat of flexible architecture. Its supple body mimics the fall of silk while composed of tightly threaded sapphires, emeralds, and onyx, set one by one into hundreds of hand-crafted elements. A brilliant sapphire sugarloaf from Sri Lanka (31.09 ct) anchors the piece with prismatic magnetism. The modular design allows for transformative wear: from sautoir to scarf and choker. As Jewelry Creative Executive Director Lucia Silvestri explains, “It has to move like fabric… the designer envisioned it as a piece that could be worn in multiple ways.” After 1,600 hours of meticulous craftsmanship, spanning 1,180 individual elements, the result is a High Jewelry piece that boasts poetic fluidity and technical brilliance.
