Secret Garden
Meaning of the Name
A tribute to Rome’s hidden sanctuaries, places of memory and wonder. Secret Garden evokes the hush of twilight courtyards, where light lingers after dusk and the natural world glows with an inner warmth. Like the padparadscha at its heart, it is a jewelry piece that holds the day’s last light and transforms it into something eternal.

Concept & Inspiration
The Secret Garden Necklace draws its spirit from Rome’s secluded courtyards: intimate spaces where nature and architecture converse in silence. At its heart glows a rare padparadscha sapphire, an elusive gem long pursued by Jewelry Creative Executive Director Lucia Silvestri, who recalls: “It was love at first sight, really. I’ve been thinking about this stone for years.” Witnessed in the Roman light, it shimmers as though lit from within, recalling the roses that bloom in Roman courtyards, immortalized by painters from around the world.

Craftsmanship
Centered around an exceptionally rare pink-orange padparadscha sapphire (26.65 ct), this composition is a masterclass in color, harmony, and compositional finesse. Cabochon emeralds, violet sapphires, onyx accents, and pavé-set diamonds form a lush, botanic-like structure that is flexible yet architecturally precise. Each stone is meticulously selected and positioned to echo the dappled glow of a Roman garden at dusk. Realized through 1200 working hours of shared expertise from Le Botteghe, this piece is the fruit of an intimate exchange between creatives at Bvlgari.
